Netflix's hit series Squid Game made history by earning four Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards nominations. On January 12, 2022, the event officially announced its list of nominees for the year.
The drama directed by Hwang Dong Hyuk became the first foreign language TV series to be nominated for the SAG Awards. While in the film category, Parasite became the first foreign language film to win Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture from the 2020 SAG Awards.
Quoting Soompi , Thursday (13/1/2022), Squid Game was nominated in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series category along with The Handmaid's Tale , The Morning Show , Succession , and Yellowstone . This category is the highest award in the drama category at the SAG Awards.
On the other hand, Lee Jung Jae was included in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series category with Brian Cox ( Succession ), Billy Crudup ( The Morning Show ), Kieran Culkin ( Succession ), and Jeremy Strong ( Succession )
